

On the 15th of April, 2025, the Honourable Commissioner for Health, Dr. Cyril Oshiomhole, and the Executive Secretary, EDSPHCDA, Dr. Coulson Oahimire Osoikhia, visited some Primary Healthcare Centres undergoing major reconstruction under the Immunization Plus and Malaria Progress by Accelerating Coverage and Transforming Services (IMPACT) Project funded by World Bank in Benin City.
Among the Primary Healthcare Centres being renovated are the Egor PHC, Useh PHC, Iwogban PHC, and Amufi PHC.
The Commissioner and ES were accompanied by Dr. Idemudia Osayomore, the Impact Project Manager, Edo State/ Director of Community and Family Health Services EDSPHCDA along with Program Managers from EDSPHCDA, Contractors, and Engineers working on the project.
While speaking, the Honorable Commissioner for Health, Edo State, Dr. Cyril Oshiomhole expressed satisfaction with the progress of the work and emphasized that it aligns with the State Government’s commitment to improving health infrastructure and services for Edo State.
Also speaking, the Executive Secretary, Dr. Coulson Oahimire Osoikhia, reaffirmed the State Government’s commitment to providing better healthcare for the people. He stated, “We are here to serve the people of the state and fulfill the mandate of His Excellency, Mr. Governor Monday Okphebholo’” He also mentioned that Edo State is collaborating with the World Bank and other partners to ensure that these standard primary healthcare centres are built.
The contractor, Mr. Omorogie Ehigie, assured that the project will be completed by May 2025.
