edsphcda commences Second Round Big Catch-Up Vaccination Exercise across edo state.

The Second Round Big Catch-Up Vaccination Exercise is in full swing across Edo State. The exercise commenced on February 17 and will last until February 25, 2025. It’s truly inspiring to see the dedication of our health workers during this exercise and the support from the Acting Local Government Chairmen across various LGAs. Together, they are flagging off this childhood immunization drive in their communities, ensuring that no child is left unprotected against vaccine-preventable diseases.

It is imperative to note that sensitization remains key. Throughout the campaign, health workers are engaging individuals and communities, emphasizing the importance of routine immunization for children aged 0-59 months. Every eligible child deserves the protection that vaccines provide, and @EDSPHCDA, we are committed to making that a reality.

As the day winds down, our hardworking health workers don’t stop. Each evening, they gather with technical partners such as WHO, UNICEF, and others for a review meeting. These sessions help assess progress, discuss challenges, and strategize on the way forward to improve immunization coverage and overall healthcare delivery.

Health education is also a major part of this initiative. Parents, caregivers, and entire communities are receiving valuable information on healthy behaviors to safeguard their children’s well-being. Beyond this second round of the Big Catch-Up (BCU) routine immunization uptake, our broader goal is to improve the overall health outcomes of the people of Edo State.

Together, we can achieve #ZeroMissedChildren and strengthen primary healthcare across the state. Let’s continue to support and spread the word!
